Arrivel

  • You’ll be picked up from the airport (or hotel)
  • Accommodation before the tour departs can be arranged for extra cost

Day 1Pick up from the Airport/Hotel to start your 3 Days Mountain Sabinyo Hiking.

Your driver guide will pick you from the Hotel/Entebbe and then you start your scenic view to Mgahinga National Park. You will stop at the Equator and later for en route lunch before you proceed to bwindi and you will arrive late evening for Dinner and overnight.

Drive Time: Approximately 9-10 hours

Accommodation: Ichumbi Hotel Kisoro(Budget) or Lake Mulehe Gorilla lodge (Midrange) or Gahinga Lodge(Luxury)

Meals: Full board

Day 2Early Morning Hiking of Mt. Sabinyo

Today, you will start the hike to the top of Mount Sabinyo, a Virunga Volcano that you can only access its summit from the park. The summit of the mountain lies at 3,645 meters (11,959 ft), marks the intersection of the borders of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Rwanda, and Uganda. The slopes of Mt. Sabinyo are a habitat for the critically endangered mountain gorillas.

You will see the rugged nature of the terrain along the Sabinyo slopes that has many craters with sharp ridges. The Mount Sabinyo hike is a one day hike involving 4 hours to the summit and 4 hours back and this depends on the pace and weather conditions. Walking sticks are provided for free meanwhile the porters are available for hire. You will go through vegetation ranges from the bamboo zone between 2400 – 2800m. After ascending to its park, have some rest and your packed lunch. Start descending the mountain. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3Transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe to end your 3 Days Mountain Sabinyo Hiking

After breakfast and relaxation at the lodge, you will bid farewell to the lodge and drive back to Kampala/Entebbe for drop off at the Hotel or Airport to end the 4Day Mt Sabinyo Hiking safari.

Day 5Lake Geneva and Château de Chillon

It’s market day in Lausanne! Enjoy browsing and packing a picnic lunch for our 11 a.m. boat cruise on Lake Geneva. A few miles down-shore we’ll dock at Château de Chillon, where we’ll have a guided tour of this delightfully medieval castle on the water. On our way back we’ll take time to peek into the vineyards surrounding Lutry before returning to Lausanne. Boat: 2 hrs. Bus: 1 hr. Walking: moderate.
