Arua is a City and a commercial center in Arua district, approximately 495 Kilometers north west of Kampala City. Its bordered to the Demographic Republic of Congo in the west and South Sudan in the north making it strategical located to do business with Uganda and her two neighbors.
Nevertheless, her strategic position makes her a home to many Refugees who keep flowing in Uganda from the neighboring Countries. Arua is an important base for Non-Governmental Organizations working in the West Nile Region.
ACTIVITIES.
Arua has administrative activities of the Offices of the Arua town council, headquarters of Arua District, Roman Catholic Diocese of Arua, Church of Uganda Madi West Nile Diocese.

Arua campus of Muni University, Campus of Islamic University, Arua Campus of Makerere University, Campus of Uganda Christian University, Campus of Bugema University, Central Market, Arua Currency Center operated by the Bank of Uganda, Arua Regional Referral Hospital.
TOURISM AND TRAVEL.
Arua has a Civilian Airport serving the City, the Airfield serves as a hub for passengers from Southern Sudan and Democratic Republic of Uganda connecting flights to Entebbe and a few locals traveling to the West Nile Region. It has scheduled and chartered flights.
Tourism there is the Ragem Beach, and other few attractions. Media has a number of Broadcast for Television and Radio services.
