Itinerary

Day 1Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

You will commence your voyage very early at 7.00am after breakfast with your English driver guide from your hotel premises. Head towards Masaka road, you will have your first stop-over at the Equator which is an eye opener to brighten your 9 hour journey. You will freshener up, take some coffees, a few photo shots etc. , It’s such a good experience, to stand with one foot in the northern hemisphere and one foot on the Southern hemisphere of the world. And with a monument on both sides that reads “Uganda Equator”. Lunch will be in Mbararatown but feel free to make a stop anywhere to take photos enroute.Enjoy the beautiful sceneries as you drive to Bwindi.

Check at your Silverback Lodge for your accommodation relax from the long drive and prepare for your astonishing experience of tracking the huge mountain gorillas the next morning. Dine at the Lodge and retire for the night.

Day 2Gorilla Tracking

Arise very early for breakfast then proceed to the Park Headquarters for orientation and briefing you will then move direct to the mist- jungle to trek the giant creatures with the leading of the Uganda Wildlife guide.

Trekking this mysterious and adventurous jungle involves climbing and hiking in search of the gorillas this also enables you to see other wild life such as the birds, butterflies, primates, mammals etc. Then hike into the forest where the gorillas were seen the previous night and track from that point.

At times the trekking is tough and rough with rain overhead and can take a full day, its luck to to see them in the first 2hours meaning it can take at times 6 hours for one to see them, so it’s unpredictable. Once you have seen them you will sit around them and watch them for an hour in a distance of 6 meters. The moment the gorillas are located all fatigue is forgotten, as the experience is often described as being the most profound indescribable memory in one’s life.

Having a glimpse of these creatures leaves an erasable memory in your mind, the way they take care of their young ones, feed and communicate with each other. Although the Hike is physically demanding the beauty of the forest and surrounding scenery make the trekking worthwhile.

Bwindi Impenetrate is such a blessing because it’s the only place where humans get an opportunity to see the gorillas at a close proximity. You will have a picnic lunch, Cameras and plenty of fast speed films are recommended usually there is rain overhead hence waterproof clothing are required including zip lock bags for cameras and film.

Return after the trek, rest for a while and later you will go for a village walk or enjoy the local entertainments in the communities. The above activities will be determined by how easily and quickly you accessed the gorillas. Retire for the dinner and the night at Silverback Lodge.

Day 3Return to Kampala.

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and return to Kampala. Lunch will be enroute in Mbarara.
There is an option of touring the crocodile farm in Buwama or proceeding direct to your hotel premises to freshen up for your flight back home.
