Masaka is a City in the Buganda region, west of Lake Victoria located in Southern Uganda. It’s the headquarters of the Masaka District.

Masaka City Council offices are in the City, the Headquarters of the Mechanized Brigade of the Uganda People `s Defense Force, Masaka Central Market.
The main Campus of Muteesa 1 Royal University, Western Campus of the Kampala University.
The Headquarters of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Masaka.

Kitovu Hospital, Masaka Regional Referral Hospital.
Masaka Currency center, a Currency storage and processing facility owned and operated by Bank of Uganda, Uganda’s Central Bank. There are also a number Financial Institutions such as Bank of Africa, Equity Bank, Absa, DFCU, Housing Finance etc.

TOURISM ACTIVITIES:
- Masaka City is quite close to L. Mburo National Park only about 120 Kilometers from the city, which has lots of game, such as the Zebras, Impalas, Deers, Buffalos, Lions, Bush bucks, Hippos a wide range of Birds, etc. Game drive within the Park as well as Boat Cruise on the Lake waters.
- Masaka City is on Lake Victoria shores, so there are a number of beaches such as Sand Beach of Nabugabo, which engages in a number of activities like, Canoeing, Motor rally events, Fishing, Bird watching and Camping.
- Masaka has a number of hotels for tourism like Brovad, Maple Leaf hotel etc.
- On your way to the City, there is the Equator which a major tourist attraction.
